Augusto Rollandin
Augusto Rollandin (born June 13, 1949 in Brusson , Aosta Valley ) is an Italian politician of the regional party Union Valdôtaine and since 2008 president of the autonomous region of Aosta Valley.
Career
Augusto Rollandin is a veterinarian by profession. His political career began in his hometown Brusson, where he was mayor from 1975 to 1978. From 1978 to 1994 he was a member of the regional parliament of the Aosta Valley and from 1978 to 1983 regional minister for health and at times also for agriculture. From 1983 to 1990 he was President of the Aosta Valley regional government for the first time.
From 2001 to 2006 he was a member of the Senato della Repubblica in Rome. In 2008 he was elected President of the Aosta Valley and confirmed in this office in 2013.
Rollandin also managed the regional water company, the regional university of the Aosta Valley and the Aosta aeroclub.
