The Cerro Auquihuato cinder cone is located about 30 km northeast of the Sara Sara volcano on a remote high plateau in the Peruvian Andes . A lava flow emanating from this cinder cone poured through a river valley to the south. No reliable scientific data are available about the last known eruption.
