Aurélien Montaroup (born December 19, 1985 in Rennes ) is a French football player .

Career

Montaroup began playing football as a child in his hometown at the Stade Rennes . There he went through his entire career as a youth player, where he won the Coupe Gambardella in 2003 , and was accepted into the second team in the same year at the age of 17. For this he was used regularly and reached the French championship title of the reserve team in 2004, but did not make the leap into the first team and decided in 2005 to move to US Orléans . As with the Rennes reserve, he played with Orléans in the fourth division, but left the club after a year to move to the second division US Créteil . However, he also played exclusively for the second team in Créteil and dissolved his contract after just three months. It took about a year before he found a new employer in autumn 2007 in the fourth-class FC Vitré.

In January 2009, Montaroup signed for the new season, which will be played after the calendar year, with the Belarusian first division club Dinamo Minsk . On the first day of the season in a 2-1 win against FK Minsk , the player was on the starting line-up and made his professional debut at the age of 23. Both in this and in the two following seasons Montaroup was set as a regular player. With his team he also fought for a place in the Europa League in the summer of 2009 , but the team failed. Personally, the Frenchman was named the best defender in the Belarusian league in 2010.

Three years after moving abroad, Montaroup returned to France in January 2012 with his signature at SM Caen . Because he still had a valid contract with Minsk, Caen had to pay a transfer fee for him, which is estimated at 300,000 euros. For his new club, the player ran for the first time in the 0-1 draw against FC Toulouse on January 28, 2012, making his first division debut in France. As in Minsk, he was able to establish himself in the team with which he had to accept relegation to the second division at the end of the 2011/12 season and then also lost his regular place. In 2014 he returned to the top class, but he did not get a new contract and therefore moved to the second division US Créteil, in whose reserve team he had played years earlier. There he was able to fight for a regular place in the subsequent period. In 2016 he had to accept relegation to the third division.
