Pulau Aur is a Malay island of volcanic origin in the South China Sea . It is located about 65 km east of the mainland of the Malay Peninsula and belongs to the state of Johor . Aur belongs to the three smaller neighboring islands Pulau Dayang , Pulau Lang and Pulau Pinang to Johor Marine Park . The main town of Kampong Teluran is located in the northwest across from the secondary island Pulau Dayang.

The best way to get to the island is from the ferry terminal in Mersing . However, individual resorts on Pulau Aur also have their own boats, some of which are stationed in Tg Leman . Aur is very popular with diving tourists , especially weekenders from nearby Singapore . Besides hard corals and huge swarms of young fish also may be lucky whale sharks and manta rays are observed.
