Operelles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Opera Ellen short are operas designated about 15 minutes Duration that the Vienna siren Opera Theater is since 2004 at various distances by authors and composers in order (Series 1: Millimeter crises and miniature disasters - Series 2: Abbreviations and accelerations - Series 3: guests) and then performs, usually several pieces in one evening.

The idea comes from the theater director Kristine Tornquist and the jury Everhartz , who in 2004 commissioned such 15-minute operas "on graph paper" for the first time. At that time, the authors were given characters instead of themes, and the composers were given a fixed line-up, which is therefore identical in all operelles of a series. The world premieres were shown in cooperation with the Tyrolean State Theater and the Vienna Art Nouveau Theater . In 2013 sirene worked with the Festival Wien Modern .
