The term neighboring island , often neighboring island called, refers to an island that is in close proximity to a size as large or economically more significant main island is.
Islands in an archipelago are sometimes referred to as minor or neighboring islands if none of the islands is significantly larger or more important than the others.
In Greece , minor islands are often referred to in a similar way to the respective main island by simply prefixing the expression Andi- ( Greek Αντί ), for example in Andikythira , Andimilos , Andiparos or Anditilos .
