Aurlus Mabélé

Aurlus Mabele (* 26. October 1953 in Brazzaville as Aurélien Miatsonama ; † 19th March 2020 in Paris ) was a Congolese Soukous - singer and composer .

Life

Aurlus Mabélé has been active as a musician since his youth. Together with Jean Baron, Pedro Wapechkado and Mav Cacharel, he founded the music group Les Ndimbola Lokole in 1974 . After success in the Congo, he began to focus on a music career in Europe in the mid-1980s. In 1986 he founded the Loketo group with Diblo Dibala and Mav Cacharel . According to his own statements, over 10 million records of his music have been sold worldwide during his more than 25 year career.

After struggling with the consequences of a stroke for more than five years , he began his musical comeback in 2009 with a successful tour in the Antilles .

On March 19, 2020, Mabélé died at the age of 66 during the COVID-19 pandemic in France as a result of a SARS-CoV-2 infection in Paris.
