Pearson Jordan

Pearson G. Jordan (born October 23, 1950 - March 28, 2020 in the United States ) was a Barbadian athlete who specialized in sprinting .

Life

Jordan grew up in Speightstown in the Parish Saint Peter .

From 1976 to 1979 he was a member of the track and field team at Louisiana State University . As such, he won the 4 × 400 meter relay race at the NCAA Division I Men's Athletics Championships in 1979 .

In 1976, Jordan took part in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal as part of the Barbadian delegation . He competed in the disciplines 100 meters and 4 × 100 meters , but was eliminated in each of the heats.

Jordan, who had pre-existing conditions, died in March 2020 at the age of 69 as a result of a SARS-CoV-2 infection during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States .
