Aurora Bautista Zúnel (born October 15, 1925 in Villanueva de los Infantes , Valladolid province , † August 27, 2012 in Madrid ) was a Spanish actress .

Life

Bautista came to Barcelona at a young age , where she studied acting at the Institut del Teatro . The Teatro Español de Madrid signed her for its ensemble in 1945, where she made her debut in William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night 's Dream . In 1948 she received her first film role and played for the screen in several roles until 1961, while she was seen on the stage in numerous, mostly classical, roles. After her marriage to a doctor she went to Mexico and interrupted her career with a few exceptions - such as La tía Tula , for which she received the Premio Nacional de Interpretación in Mexico in 1965 - until she returned to Spain in 1966 and now in other films, including some Spaghetti Western , was seen.

Her representations were described as powerful and lively, which made them suitable for historical material and plays in which she could combine drama and passion.

Aurora Bautista has received a number of prizes for her depictions, most recently in 2009 with the Premio Unión de Actores for her life's work.

She is not to be confused with an actress who played mostly secondary roles in genre films between 1965 and 1969 as Aurora Battista , Aurora Batista and Aura Batis .
