Austin Stevens (born May 19, 1950 in Pretoria ) is a South African documentary filmmaker , adventurer , wildlife photographer and author . He achieved predominant fame in his show Austin Stevens - The Danger Searcher , which was shown for the first time in 2001 on television on the TV channel Animal Planet .

biography

Austin Stevens was born and raised in the capital of South Africa, Pretoria . He became interested in wildlife, especially snakes , at the age of 12 .

In the 1970s, Stevens was the museum director of the Transvaal Snake Park , near Johannesburg , where he worked for six years. There he learned to deal with animals, especially reptiles , in order to become a herpetologist .

After finishing school, he began studying, which he completed as a qualified herpetologist.

Private life

In December 2007, Stevens married his second wife, Amy.
