The Austnes Skerries ( english are) a group of archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Kemplands . They are 3.7 km south-southwest of Cape Gotley .
Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1972 on the basis of the now obsolete designation of one of the archipelago as Austnesskjera ( Norwegian for Ostspitzenschäre ).
