Australian-Montenegrin relations have existed since 2006. Australia first recognized Montenegro as an independent state on June 27, 2006. Diplomatic relations have existed since September 1, 2006.

According to the results of the Australian census in 2011, there were 1,553 people of Montenegrin origin in Australia. The number of Australians living in Montenegro is unknown and is believed to be small.

Australia is represented in Montenegro by its embassy in the Serbian capital Belgrade . Montenegro does not have an embassy in Australia.
