Austrocactus bertinii is a species of plant in the genus Austrocactus from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet bertinii honors Pierre Bertin (1800–1891), who collected plants in Patagonia.

Austrocactus bertinii usually grows individually with short, cylindrical, olive-green shoots that reach heights of up to 40 centimeters with diameters of 5 centimeters and more. There are 10 to 12 ribs , which are conspicuously divided into cusps . The 4 slender, strongly hooked central spines are brown to black and up to 6 centimeters long. The approximately 15 needle radial spines are light and up to 1 centimeter long.
The somewhat pinkish-yellow flowers are up to 6 centimeters long and 10 centimeters in diameter.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Austrocactus bertinii is distributed in the Argentine provinces of Neuquén , Río Negro , Chubut and Santa Cruz at altitudes of up to 1000 meters.
The first description as Cereus bertinii by François Hérincq was published in 1863. Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose put the species in the genus Austrocactus in 1922 . Nomenclatory synonyms are Malacocarpus bertinii (Cels ex Hérincq) Hosseus (1939, incorrect name ICBN -Article 11.4) and Notocactus bertinii (Cels ex Hérincq) WTMarshall (1941).
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
