The Autódromo Internacional El Jabali is a 3.250 km long, permanent motorsport racing circuit , around 25 kilometers southeast of San Salvador in El Salvador , in the municipality of Quezaltepeque .
location
The race track is located between Santa Lucía (El Salvador) and Quezaltepeque , near the Panamericana . The route is located in a valley of the inactive El Jabalí volcano on the CA 1A expressway. The route is driven clockwise.
history
The Autódromo was planned in 1974 by the operating company Autodromos de El Salvador SA with representatives of the Automobile Club of El Salvador (ACES) and the then FIA representative Robert Langford. The property with around 100 hectares was acquired on December 3, 1976. Oscar Monedero was entrusted as architect and project manager . Construction began in March 1978. In February 1979, the racetrack with the Gran Premio Delta was inaugurated with the participation of pilots from the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Spain.
