Database dangerous goods

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The dangerous goods database is part of a dangerous goods / dangerous goods information system of the Federal Republic of Germany . The database provides the essential information that is required for the transport of dangerous goods . This information, for currently around 9000 substances subject to dangerous goods law, is compiled from the relevant dangerous goods regulations. The beginnings of the database go back to 1982.

The database provides information for a dangerous good, among other things, regarding:

  • Dangerous goods class (the type of danger is differentiated through the division into classes),
  • Packing group (the classification of substances within their dangerous goods class in order to classify their hazard),
  • Classification code (the classification code provides information about the substance properties of the dangerous goods),
  • Transport category (the classification of dangerous goods in terms of their hazard potential)

The database is divided into a free public part, which however only provides limited information, and a chargeable part.

The database belongs to department 3.1 "Dangerous goods packaging" in the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). In the creation and further development of the database, BAM is supported by funding, data exchange or advice or by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development , the Federal Office for Radiation Protection , the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt , the Federal Environment Agency and the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment .
