The car crane 80 (ADK 80, ADK also 80-0) is a in the DDR produced Mobile crane with a maximum capacity of 8 tons (80 quintals).

history

In 1982 the development of the ADK 80 began in VEB Maschinenbau "Karl Marx" Babelsberg . It was originally intended to replace the ADK 70 . The ADK 80 was designed for universal use. The base vehicle should be the all-wheel drive chassis of the IFA W50 . In 1984 ten functional models and ten production models were created. Series production was supposed to start in the same year, but did not take place until 1985 due to insufficient series security. The production capacity for the ADK 80 was not sufficient for years and there were problems with the sensitive microelectronics, so that the ADK 70 continued to be produced. In terms of price, the ADK 80 was not able to establish itself very successfully on the market. Until production was discontinued in 1989, only 350 units were built.

For the first time in a truck crane in the GDR, microelectronic components were used, which were used to monitor the crane operation in terms of safety. A wide range of additional equipment should guarantee the diverse application possibilities. For this purpose, an electro-hydraulic bulk material gripper, vacuum load holding devices and load holding magnets were offered. For the ADK 80, crane operation via external power supply was planned. It was also possible to supply three-phase current and operate a work platform.

The easily telescopic boom could be extended with a 6 meter long jib boom. The crane was operated via the control panel located behind the passenger seat and the control switch there. To do this, the passenger seat could be turned backwards by 180 °.

As with the ADK 70, the IFA W50 with a long wheelbase (3700 mm) and all-wheel drive served as the base vehicle for the ADK 80 .
