Avenir ( French future ) is the second single by the French singer and actress Louane and the first single from her debut album Chambre 12 . The title was released as an EP on December 1, 2014 and as a download on January 5, 2015. On October 30, 2015, it was released as a CD single in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The title reached the top of the French singles chart. Avenir landed at number 3 in the German single charts , achieved gold status in Germany in December 2015 and even platinum status in February 2017.

In addition to a version in French, an English version has also been published, but the refrain has remained in the original language.

Jan Stremmel wrote in SZ Magazin : “The young singer Louane has achieved something very rare with» Avenir «: to get a French song into the German top 5. [...] The recipe for success of Louane's new hit is its decided homelessness. The text is French - but the surrounding area is a cloak of deliberately generic electropop, as it could naturally also come from an Osnabrück recording studio. A French Trojan horse. "
