Jan Stremmel

Jan Oliver Stremmel (born September 24, 1985 in Stuttgart ) is a German journalist and presenter .

Jan Stremmel studied art history, modern history and German literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain . He then completed an apprenticeship at the German School of Journalism in Munich . Since October 2013 he has been moderating the EinsPlus knowledge magazine “WTF ?!” together with Vivian Perkovic . Knowledge - Testing - Research ". Since 2015 he has been working for the Süddeutsche Zeitung in the “Society and Weekend” section. He writes the chart column Hit, Hit, Hurra for Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin . In 2015 he received a Dietrich Oppenberg Media Prize from the Reading Foundation for his article Are we still typing correctly? that appeared on Jetzt.de . For his research on legally available knockout drops, he was awarded the Dr. Georg Schreiber Media Prize of the AOK and the Journalism Prize of the Health Foundation in 2017 . Since 2015 he has also worked as a reporter for the knowledge program Galileo on ProSieben . Jan Stremmel lives in Munich.
