Course of events
The storm started very early in the morning. The sky over southeast Dalarna and northeast Västmanland turned black. Immediately afterwards there were heavy thunderstorms with lightning and thunder in many places. Worst in the municipality of Avesta . Heavy hail showers fell in the middle of the day. The communities Hedemora and Norberg were most affected . At the same time, a large tornado hit the municipality of Avesta.
