Avidos is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Avidos belongs to the Vila Nova de Famalicão district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 2.8 km² and 1746 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Avidos and Lagoa were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Avidos e Lagoa . Avidos is the seat of this newly formed community.
