Lagoa is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Lagoa is part of the Vila Nova de Famalicão district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 1.87 km² and 917 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Lagoa and Avidos were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Avidos e Lagoa .
