The district of Awat ( Chinese  阿瓦提 县 , Pinyin Āwǎtí Xiàn ; Uighur ئاۋات ناھىيىسى Awat Naⱨiyisi ) of the Aksu administrative district is located in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​13,066.72 km² and has 220,000 inhabitants (2004). Its main town is the large community of Awat (阿瓦提 镇).
