Axel Beater

Axel Beater (* 1961 in Braunschweig ) is a German legal scholar and currently holds a professorship at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald .

Beater studied law at the Universities of Mannheim and Göttingen from 1981 to 1986 . There he also received his doctorate in 1988. jur. and from 1991 to 1995 also became a research assistant at the chair for civil law and comparative law with Uwe Blaurock in Göttingen . In 1994 he completed his habilitation in civil law, commercial and business law, tax law and comparative law in Göttingen . This was followed by substitute professorships at the Universities of Regensburg , Konstanz and Munich ; since October 1, 1996 he has been a professor in Greifswald.

Beaters main interests lie in the areas of competition law , antitrust law and intellectual property law .
