Hans-Werner Eckert

Hans-Werner Eckert (born June 21, 1953 in Dillenburg ) is a German legal scholar and currently holds a professorship at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald .

Life

Eckert studied law at the University of Giessen from 1974 to 1980 . From 1982 to 1987 he was a research assistant at the chair for Roman law , civil law , labor and social law at the University of Gießen with Alfred Söllner . In 1987 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD .

From 1987 to 1997 Eckert worked at the Federal Ministry of Justice in Bonn, first as a consultant in the departments “Company Law, Corporate Constitution” and “Law of Obligations, Consumer Protection” and later as a government director, head of the “Law of Obligations, Consumer Protection” department. In 1993 he was in casting of civil law, labor law, corporate and commercial law habilitation . Eckert has held a chair in Greifswald since April 1, 1997.

Among other things, Eckert is a member of the civil law teachers' association and a founding member of the Institute for Applied Ethics.
