Axel Fischer (born May 27, 1961 ) is a former German soccer player .

Player career

Axel Fischer began his career in 1979 at FC Hanau 93 , where he played until 1982. He then moved to SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga . There, Fischer immediately became a regular player and played 34 of the 38 season games. After the end of the season, Axel Fischer went to league competitor Hertha BSC . With the Berlin team he was initially a regular player, but lost this position in the second half of the season, in which he was no longer able to play. In 1985/86, however, Fischer was an undisputed regular player, but even with his three league goals he could not prevent Hertha from missing relegation just behind SC Freiburg at the end of the season . With that, Axel Fischer ended his career as a professional soccer player and from 1987 to 1990 only played in the Hesse league for SpVgg Bad Homburg .

Private

In parallel to his football career, Axel Fischer studied business administration and has been the owner of a jewelry store in Munich since 2004 .
