Player career
Axel Fischer began his career in 1979 at FC Hanau 93 , where he played until 1982. He then moved to SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2nd Bundesliga . There, Fischer immediately became a regular player and played 34 of the 38 season games. After the end of the season, Axel Fischer went to league competitor Hertha BSC . With the Berlin team he was initially a regular player, but lost this position in the second half of the season, in which he was no longer able to play. With that, Axel Fischer ended his career as a professional soccer player and from 1987 to 1990 only played in the Hesse league for SpVgg Bad Homburg .
