Axel Karner

Axel Karner (born May 18, 1955 in Zlan , Carinthia ) is an Austrian writer.

life and work

Karner studied Protestant theology , theater studies , psychology and religious education . From 1987 to 1988 he did community service in the Evangelical Hospital in Vienna . From 1994 to 2001 he was editor of the magazine Das Wort. Austrian magazine for Protestant religious instruction . Since 1974 he has lived in Vienna as an author and teacher for Protestant religion , social learning and performing games .

He is a member of the International Dialect Institute (IDI), the Austrian Dialect Authors / Archives (ÖDA), the Graz Authors 'Assembly (GAV), the Literature Circle Podium and the Austrian Writers' Association .

Karner writes poems and crime short stories in dialect and written language, sharply demarcating dialect as an authentic form of language from "dialect" with its traditionalist connotations.
