Axel Leonard

Axel Leonard (* 1964 in Hollage ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Fiscal Court .

Live and act

Leonard studied law at the University of Osnabrück , where he passed his first state examination in 1989. He completed his legal clerkship in 1993 with the second state examination. He then worked as the head of the legal remedies office of the Bad Bentheim tax office . In 1997 he was at the University of Osnabrück with the European legal magazine The legal consequences of failure to implement EU directives Dr. iur. PhD. In the same year he was appointed a member of the government, but one year later he moved to the Lower Saxony Finance Court in Hanover as a judge . In 2000, he was appointed judge at the tax court and was primarily concerned with issues relating to sales tax law. Since 2014 he has been a lecturer for sales tax law at the University of Osnabrück and is also co-editor of a commentary on the sales tax law .

In 2017 Leonard was elected judge at the Federal Fiscal Court and assigned to the V Senate, which is primarily responsible for sales tax law, child benefit and tax exemptions in the area of ​​corporate and trade tax.
