Axel Spies
Axel Spies (born October 31, 1952 in Saarbrücken ) is a German politician ( CDU ). Since May 2012 he has been State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of Finance and Europe .
Personal
Axel Spies is the father of two children. He is a hobby cook and painter.
Professional background
After graduation in 1971 he studied from 1971 to 1976 Jura . He then completed his legal clerkship and was a research assistant at Saarland University . In 1981 he received his doctorate there. From 1979 to 2012 he held various functions in the Saarland tax and finance administration. Among other things, he was the minister's personal advisor, head of the tax office in St. Ingbert and head of the tax audit in Saarbrücken. Most recently he was budget director of the Ministry of Finance. From 1992 to 1994 he was head of the personnel department at Saarländischer Rundfunk . In May 2012, Axel Spies was appointed State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of Finance and Europe.
Party activity
Axel Spies sat for the CDU on the city council of St. Ingbert from 1989 to 1993.
