The Communauté de communes de la Vallée de l'Albarine is a former French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Département Ain , whose administrative seat was in the city of Saint-Rambert-en-Bugey . Its territory comprised a section of the Cluse des Hôpitaux , a Jura transverse valley into which the Albarine river has cut deep.

The community association consisted of 12 communities (as of 2015) and had 5447 inhabitants (as of 2013) on an area of 141.7 km 2 . Its cut corresponded exactly to that of the former canton of Saint-Rambert-en-Bugey .

history

The cooperation between the municipalities began with a special purpose association for waste disposal, which was expanded in 1991 to become a district de la vallée de l'Albarine , the predecessor of today's municipal associations. At the turn of the year 2001/2002 this was converted into the communauté de communes.

With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association was dissolved and the member communities divided between the Communauté de communes de la Plaine de l'Ain and Communauté de communes du Plateau d'Hauteville .

tasks

In addition to the competencies required in the field of economy, tourism and spatial planning, the community association also takes on waste management, sports facilities and environmental protection and operates a day-care center.
