Axel from Werder

Axel von Werder (* 1956 ) is a German business economist and university lecturer .

Life

Axel von Werder comes from the noble family von Werder and studied business administration at the University of Cologne . After graduating in 1981, he worked as an assistant, initially at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen, where he received his doctorate in 1986, and from 1986 in Cologne. He completed his habilitation in Cologne in 1993 and in the same year took over the chair of organization and management at the Technical University of Berlin . He received further positions at the University of Bayreuth (1993) and at the University of Bamberg (1998).

From 1997 to 2010 Axel von Werder was co-editor of Organization Science magazine . He is also head of the organization working group of the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft eV, spokesman for the German Code of Corporate Governance (GCCG) initiative group in Berlin, member of the government commission on the German Corporate Governance Code and chairman of the nomination committee of the German Accounting Auditor (DPR). He heads the Berlin Center of Corporate Governance (BCCG), which was founded in 2002 at Werder's chair with support from business.
