Ayşegül Acevit

Ayşegül Acevit (* 1968 in Turkey ) is a German-Turkish publicist and book author. The Diploma sociologist works as a freelance journalist in WDR - TV and - radio .

Life

Acevit came to Germany from the Turkish Black Sea coast with her parents as a toddler . She grew up in the Ruhr area and now lives in Cologne . After studying social sciences , she completed internships at the Adolf Grimme Institute , West German Broadcasting and Second German Television .

Together with Birand Bingül , she is the editor of the German-Turkish collection of stories What are you living? , to which she also contributed a large number of her own short stories. Her second book at home in Almanya (2008) then contained only her own stories about the life of the Turks in Germany. The women's magazine Emma called Acevit a "mediator" in connection with this publication and commented: "Knowledgeable, the author lets her gaze wander across both cultures."
