Aya Matsuura ( Japanese 松浦 亜 弥 , Matsuura Aya ; born June 25, 1986 in Himeji , Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a J-Pop singer, model and actress from Japan .

biography

Aya took part in the Morning Musume & Heike Michiyo Protegee Audition in 2000 and won it. It is often erroneously claimed that she attended an audition for Morning Musume herself. In 2001 she made her debut as a soloist and made her first appearance at the Morning Musumes spring concert. Their first album, First KISS , followed the following year .

She quickly became the leading soloist in Hello! Project, got advertising contracts, own radio shows and several offers for film roles. She also became a member of various subgroups of the Hello! Projects. Worth mentioning here are GAM, a duo with Miki Fujimoto , and DEF.DIVA with Maki Goto , Natsumi Abe and Rika Ishikawa . The publications of the groups achieved good placements in the Oricon charts.

In 2009, like all acts under the Elder Club , she left Hello! Project. However, it still stands at Up-Front Promotion, the company above the Hello! Project, under contract.

A blog called Ayablog and a Twitter account were opened. The blog has since been discontinued. In addition, Aya announced a break and closed concerts for the next 2-3 years.

In August 2011, it was announced that Aya had been diagnosed with endometriosis . The illness had bothered her before and was the reason for her break. She wants to continue working as a singer, but can no longer be as active as before her illness.

Positive news followed in late 2012: A magazine published the news that Aya was w-inds her long-time friend, Keita Tachibana, from the group in 2013 . , would get married.
