Aya Ota (born April 13, 1995 ) is a Japanese shot putter .

Athletic career

Aya Ota gained her first international experience at the Junior Asian Championships 2014 in Taipei , where she finished fifth with 14.55 m. In 2016 she took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha , where she also achieved fifth place with 15.27 m. In the following year she won the bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar with 15.45 m behind the Indian Manpreet Kaur and Guo Tianqian from China. Two years later she reached fifth place at the Asian Championships in Doha with 15.50 m.

In 2015 and 2016, Ota became the Japanese champion in the shot put.
