Ayhan Salar

Ayhan Salar (* 1967 in Izmir , Turkey ) is a German author , director and cameraman of Turkish origin.

Life

After studying cultural studies and philosophy at the University of Bremen and studying in the film class of the HdK Bremen, Salar worked as a production assistant at the Bremen Institute for Film / Television. Since 1994 he has worked as a freelance cameraman for Radio Bremen , NDR and ZDF . He is also the author and director of various short films and documentaries in which he also addresses migration. His early works In Fremd Erde und Totentraum ( 1995 ), which received the Film & Video Print Berlin / Hamburg sponsorship award at the 11th Hamburg Short Film Festival, are still relevant today. The filmmaker's more recent productions are Frizör ( 2003 ) and the documentary Abgedendet (2002).
