Aylward Manley Blackman (born January 30, 1883 in Dawlish , † March 9, 1956 in Abergele ( Wales )) was a British Egyptologist .

research

Aylward Manley Blackman's main research area was the ancient sites in Lower Subia such as Biga , Buhen , Dendur , ad-Derr , Faras , Gerf Hussein , Sesebi and Wadi Halfa . He carried out his most important investigations in Middle Egypt in Meir , where he recorded the decorated rock tombs there and published them in 6 volumes.

In 1952 he was elected a member of the British Academy .
