Aymar Eugène de La Baume Pluvinel (born November 6, 1860 in Marcoussis , † July 18, 1938 in Vic-sur-Cère ) was a French astronomer , professor at the École supérieure d'optique and member of the Académie des sciences (since 28 November 1932).

In 1909 he and his assistant Fernand Baldet took the first high-resolution photographs of the surface of Mars with the help of a new telescope on the Pic du Midi de Bigorre .

In 1923 he received the Jules Janssen Prize .
