Ayo & Teo is an American hip hop duo from Michigan . They became best known as teenagers with their 2017 viral hit Rolex .

Career

The brothers Ayleo and Mateo Bowles, aka Ayo & Teo, come from Ann Arbor in the US state of Michigan . They were passionate about dancing from elementary school. In the mid-2010s, they set up a social media site with dance videos and challenges, which attracted many followers. In 2016 they released the single In Reverse . The music industry noticed them and they got the chance to appear in the videos for Usher's Song No Limit and Chris Brown's Party . They also made an appearance at the BET Awards that same year. Their trademarks are their face masks with printed bear snouts and other motifs.

They signed with Columbia Records and released another single, Lit Right Now . At the beginning of 2017 they had their greatest success with their song Rolex . The video reached 30 million views on YouTube in a short time and entered the US singles charts . It came in at number 20 and was awarded double platinum . It went viral in particular, and has been viewed hundreds of millions of times over the years. Even in Great Britain, where the song didn't make it into the charts, it reached silver status a year and a half after its release.

Ayo & Teo released numerous other songs afterwards, but they didn't succeed in another hit.
