Azizi Abdullah

Azizi Abdullah (born April 4, 1942 in Kampung Bukit Meryam, Kota Kuala Muda, Sultanate Kedah , Unfederated Malay States ; † August 11, 2011 in Penang ) was a Malaysian teacher and journalist and writer of short stories and novels .

Life

Abdullah attended the Malay-speaking school in his home parish up to sixth grade and then the religious school in Kepala Batas, Seberang Perai . In 1965 he became a teacher of Islamic religion at a school in Sedang , Kedah. He worked there until his retirement in 1997. After his retirement, he became editor of the monthly consumer issues of the Consumers' Association of the Malaysian state of Penang.

Abdullah has been a writer since the early 1960s. In addition to short stories and short stories, he published 29 novels from 1969 to 2005. Many of his nearly 200 short stories have appeared in newspapers and magazines, most notably the Utusan Melayu newspaper .

Azizi Abdullah died on August 11, 2011 in the intensive care unit of the hospital on Penang Island, after he had been in hospital bed since April of that year. He was buried in Kulim , Kedah. He left behind his widow and two grown daughters.
