Azucena Berrutti (born January 7, 1929 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan politician .

Azucena Berrutti, who holds a doctorate in law and is a member of the Frente Amplio and, within it, of the Partido Socialista del Uruguay , was Secretary General of the Intendencia of Montevideo from 1990 to 1995 . She was the successor to Yamandú Fau from March 1, 2005 to March 1, 2008 in the government of President Tabaré Vázquez held the office of Defense Minister. Subsequently, Berrutti was President of SODRE since February 2009 .

Berrutti opposed the lifting of the Ley de Caducidad in her book "Ministras" in 2010 , which led to public discussions.
