Bà Rịa is a city in the province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tau in southeast Vietnam . Bà Rịa is separated from Vũng Tàu by a river that is crossed by the Cỏ May Bridge. It is the de jure seat of the province as most of the provincial administrative authorities are located here. Bà Rịa officially became the provincial capital of Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu on May 2, 2012, replacing Vũng Tàu.

Bà Rịa is 90 km southeast of Ho Chi Minh City and 20 km northwest of the oil city of Vũng Tau. Bà Rịa borders in the north on the district of Châu Đức and part of the district of Tân Thành, in the south on Vũng Tàu, in the east on the district Long Điền and in the west on the district Tân Thành.
history
The city was founded on June 2, 1994 from the division of the district of Châu Thành into the districts of Châu Đức, Tân Thành and the city of Bà Rịa. Many parts of the provincial administration were moved from Vũng Tau to Bà Rịa. Until 2007, this city was a 3rd class church in Vietnam and was promoted to a 2nd class church on November 27, 2014. The city was made provincial capital on August 22, 2012.
Infrastructure
Bà Rịa is a major traffic junction in the province on Route 51, Road 52 and Road 56. Bà Rịa is located about 48 km southeast of the planned Long Thành International Airport on National Route 51 (Vietnam). It is connected to Xuân Lộc by roads.
