Béatrice Wertli Meierhans (born February 24, 1976 in Aarau ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ) and former Secretary General of CVP Switzerland.

Life and work

Wertli comes from a family of politicians in Aargau. In 1996 she completed the Matura type B at the old canton school in Aarau . She studied international relations at the Geneva University Institute for International Studies (HEI) and at the University of Geneva and graduated in 2000 with a master's degree . From 2001 to 2005 she was head of communications at CVP Switzerland and then worked in various management positions at Swiss Post and at the Federal Office of Sport . From 2009 to 2012 she was a communications consultant in a communications agency.

Béatrice Wertli is married to the price monitor Stefan Meierhans . They have two daughters together and live in Bern.

Wertli was a member of the Bern city ​​council (parliament) from 2009 to 2013 and was co-president of the BDP / CVP parliamentary group . At the end of August 2012, Wertli was elected General Secretary of CVP Switzerland from December 1, 2012 by the party presidency. She succeeded Tim Frey , who was in office until the end of June 2012. At the end of March 2018, she announced that she would be leaving the General Secretariat in autumn. On October 1, 2018, Gianna Luzio took over the office of Secretary General.
