On Böcklweiher a settlement within the district is Strub the municipality Bischofswiesen in Upper Bavarian district of Berchtesgaden .

The eponymous Böcklweiher was called "one of the most beautiful ponds in Germany" not least because of its special reflection of the Watzmann . The pond is surrounded by a high moor ( Böcklmoos ) "with the only pine forest in the valley area" and " fauna and flora worth seeing ".

In the 3rd Gnotschaftsgebiet Strub of the “ Original Gnotschaft ” Bischofswiesen , which became a community Bischofswiesen in 1812, were in 1698 a. a. also one and a half farms named "Böckl" and "Böcklweiher" ("Weihererlehen") listed.

At the Böcklweiher 48 residential units were released for occupancy, which laid the foundation stone for the settlement.
