On the ridge of Gårahaugen, with a view of the Bø valley, there is a free-standing stone monument known locally as "old horse stone". It is a stone slab standing on its edge with a length of about 6.0 meters, a height of about 1.5 meters and a thickness of 20 to 30 cm. The top edge has five saddle-shaped recesses, which makes it look like a giant saw blade. Legends say that this was an old sacrificial altar. Next to the "Steinmerra" there is an approximately 2.0 m high, 30 cm wide building stone . Gåra stave church stood here until 1627 .
