Bülent Varol (born January 1, 1924 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish football player . Due to his longstanding activity for Beykozspor , he is associated with this association. Varol also played for one season each for the traditional Istanbul clubs Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Galatasaray Istanbul .

Player career

society

Varol began club football in the youth of Beykozspor and rose to the professional team in 1940. At that time there was no transnational professional league in Turkey. Instead, regional leagues existed in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul , Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Futbol Ligi (German: Istanbul Football League ) was considered the most renowned. Beykozspor played as the Istanbul team in the Istanbul Football League and was one of the long-established teams in this league. Varol came in his first two seasons to one league appearance per season. It was not until the 1944/45 season that he achieved his breakthrough. He was used in 17 of a total of 18 possible league games and scored four goals. His team took fourth place in the table. The next season Varol lost his regular place before he rose again to a regular player in the 1946/47 season.

In the season 1947/48 Varol moved to the city and league rivals Fenerbahçe Istanbul . Here Varol sat almost exclusively on the bench and only played one game. At the end of the season he celebrated the championship of the Istanbul League with Fenerbahçe.

The new season he moved again, this time to Vefa Istanbul . Here he immediately made the leap into the regular formation and after two years also made the leap into the Turkish national team .

For the 1950/51 season he was hired by Galatasaray Istanbul and played here in one season in eight league games, in which he met twice.

After just one season he left Galatasaray and moved to Emniyet SK within the league . For this club he played for the next five years and returned to his old club Vefa Istanbul in the summer of 1956 . With he signed a three-year contract but ended his playing career earlier. After moving to Vefa, he did not play a competitive game for this club.

National team

Varol was appointed to the squad of the Turkish national team for the first time as part of a test match against the Iranian national team scheduled for May 28, 1950 by then national coach Peter Molloy . In this game he played from the beginning and completed his first and only international match.

About half a year after this international match, he completed a game for the second selection of the Turkish national team in December 1950.
