Alliance for Sexual Self-Determination
The Alliance for Sexual Self-Determination is a project group made up of over 30 different associations, institutions and networks, which primarily campaigns against efforts to criminalize abortion . The main focus of the alliance's activities so far has been the March for Life , a regular demonstration of the rights movement in Berlin .
Goals and demands
One of the goals of the Alliance for Sexual Self-Determination is to hold a regular rally on the occasion of the annual March for Life in Berlin , in which, according to a declaration by the Alliance from 2013, the participants "represent a reactionary, fundamentalist Christian worldview. , in which the termination of pregnancy is portrayed as 'prenatal infanticide'. The term 'protection of life' represented there includes total control over women and the reconstruction of the 'old order' with the 'holy family'. "
The demands also formulated in the declaration include the deletion of Section 218 from the Criminal Code , the free delivery of the morning-after pill and better "social and economic state support and, above all, the necessary infrastructure" for all people who want a Child decide.
Members and public support
The alliance includes around 30 organizations, including the Humanist Association of Germany , the Lesbian and Gay Association Berlin-Brandenburg , Pro Familia , the Education and Science Union , Terre des Femmes , the Association of Democratic Scientists and party political groups of the SPD , DIE LINKE and Alliance 90 / The Greens . Emergence
The alliance was created in 2013 on the initiative of the Humanist Association of Germany . In the previous year, a rally at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin was called together with three other organizations with a focus on reproductive health and reproductive rights .
