Education center for information processing professions

The training center for information processing professions is a registered, non-profit association that was founded in Paderborn in 1972 . The forerunner was the "School Association for the Promotion of Education and Training in Data Processing Professions" founded in 1971. Heinz Nixdorf was significantly involved in the establishment .

The association is responsible for the bib International College, the University of Applied Sciences for Business (FHDW) and the University of Applied Sciences for Business in Hanover (FHDW). The seat of the association is Paderborn .

The bib International College is located in Paderborn , Bielefeld , Bergisch Gladbach and Hanover . The Hanover location will close on August 31, 2020.

The bib offers applicants with an intermediate level of education, advanced technical college entrance qualification or high school diploma training and study opportunities in the fields of IT, business, media design and games. After completing your training, you have the opportunity to acquire an international bachelor's degree at one of bib's partner universities.

In all training courses, students complete up to three-month practical phases in companies in which they work on projects. In Paderborn, bib maintains an IT vocational school , to which companies from all federal states can register their trainees. The vocational school is located in Paderborn, Bergisch Gladbach, Bielefeld and Hanover.

The FHDW offers bachelor's and master's degrees in the fields of business administration and business informatics. In the dual bachelor's degree, students switch between university and company every quarter. In addition to Paderborn, there are FHDW locations in Bergisch Gladbach, Bielefeld, Marburg and Mettmann as well as in Hanover.

The training center for information processing professions has been using a quality management system since 1997 and in 1998 was the first German training service provider to receive the DIN EN ISO 9001 certificate .
