The Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research (abbreviated: BASOR ) is a quarterly interdisciplinary journal on the Near East Asian Studies published by the ASOR .

The peer-reviewed journal contains English-language articles on the Ancient Near East and the Eastern Mediterranean , the content of which covers the archeology , philology , geography and history of this area between the Paleolithic and the Islamic period.

The focus is on the publication of original research and on the discussion of problems that arose in field research. This also includes preliminary excavation reports from ASOR projects.

The journal was founded in 1919 as the Bulletin of the American School of Oriental Research in Jerusalem and has had its current name since 1921.

The current editor is James M. Weinstein .
