The BC series БКГ1 (German transcription BKG1 , B = Belorussko, K = Kitajskij, G = Grusowoj) of the Belarusian Railways (BC) is an eight-axle two-section freight locomotive for railways electrified with alternating current . The locomotive was developed by the Datong electric locomotive works in cooperation with the French company Alstom on the basis of the HXD2 locomotive , which in turn is based on the Alstom Prima 47000 .

history

The locomotive was procured by the Belarusian Railways (BC) to replace the outdated locomotives of the ВЛ80 series . In 2010, a contract was signed between Belarusian Railways and Datong Electric Locomotive Plant for the delivery of twelve locomotives, the value of the contract was 100 million dollars . Other sources speak of 20 delivered locomotives. The vehicles were delivered from August to November 2011.

The Baranowitschi locomotive depot received the first two locomotives in May 2012. Trial operation began in September 2012.

Constructive features

Three-phase asynchronous motors serve as traction drive motors . The locomotives have a recuperation brake with the energy generated being fed back into the contact line.

The wheel sets are designed as monobloc wheels . The wheel bearings are monitored with temperature sensors.

The main and auxiliary compressors, the air drying facilities and the main air tanks are located inside the electric locomotive. The entire braking system for the locomotive was supplied by Knorr-Bremse .

The driver's cab has air conditioning . It is also equipped with a vacuum toilet for the locomotive crew, with the sanitary facilities being arranged in a separate room. There is also a box for lounge and appliance equipment such as a microwave oven and refrigerator.
