history
In 1717, Duke Theodor Eustach (Pfalz-Sulzbach) founded a steelworks in Weiherhammer. This company initially dealt with ammunition casting for the Imperial Armory in Vienna. In 1927, the ducal company was incorporated into the BHS-Bayerische Berg-, Hütten- und Salzwerke , newly founded by state law .
In 1960 the business area was expanded: in addition to cast iron, corrugated cardboard machines are now also designed and manufactured. From then on, the business area was steadily expanded until the state-owned BHS - Bayerische Berg-, Hütten- und Salzwerke AG was privatized in 1993. Since then, BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau has existed in the form of a GmbH .
Today the company is the second largest employer in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district .
