BK Astrio
Bollklubben Astrio is a Swedish football club from Halmstad . The club is best known for its women's team, which played two seasons in the first division.

BK Astrio was founded on July 30, 1933. The footballers involved in the founding of the club took their name from the Austrian team of FK Austria Wien . For a long time, the team only played in the lowest classes of the Swedish league pyramid. At the end of the 1973 season, the promotion to the fourth highest division was achieved for the first time. There, the club was able to take third place straight away, four points were missing at the end of the season for promotion. In the following years, the team was able to place itself in the top ranks of the league. 1979 then succeeded the championship and the associated promotion to the third division.
The first year in the third division was able to make the team of BK Astrio successful, at the end of the season they were equal on points and equipped with the same goal difference as Varberg's BoIS , but had scored four more goals. This meant participation in the promotion games to the second division , in which, however, Västra Frölunda IF and Trelleborgs FF prevailed. In the following season the club crashed back into the fourth division. There the club moved in the gray midfield in the following years, with the restructuring of the Swedish league system, the crash into Division 4 , the fifth-highest division. In 1989 they returned to the fourth division and in the following year even made their way through to third division. Here get midfield places before relegation in 1993 as bottom of the table and the club was passed through to the fifth division in the following year. There, too, it went against relegation in the following seasons, but this could be avoided.
From 1999 onwards, BK Astrio played again with the front, but the rise as runner-up was missed by three points. In 2001, the team qualified for the promotion games, in which they failed, however. Two years later, he was able to move into the promotion playoffs again, due to the poorer goal difference, the promotion was just missed. A year later they were then without a chance in the relegation round and only scored one point. Although 2005 meant the third runner-up in a row again only participation in the promotion round, in this the team remained without point loss and reached Division 3 , which was again only the fifth division due to a restructuring of the league pyramid. From there, however, the club had to be relegated and currently only plays in sixth class.
The club's women's team is more successful than the men's team. While this never got beyond the third division, the women could qualify twice for the Damallsvenskan . In 1991 and 2000, however, the season ended at the bottom of the table and thus the relegation was missed. There are a total of five wins and one draw from the two seasons. In 2001, the team even got relegated to the third division, but managed to get promoted again. However, in 2004 it went back to the third and a year later to the fourth division.
